Mike Works, Owner & President
Owner & President Mike Works has been involved in the ownership, management, brokerage and development of hotels since 1996. Mr. Works began his hotel career in 1996 managing two small Best Westerns. Since that time, Mr. Works has owned, operated, or managed over 40 hotels in the Midwest. Since 2014, Mr. Works has developed over a dozen hotels for his own portfolio and for other partnerships in Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and South Dakota. Mr. Works maintains relationships and ownership within several brands, including Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Best Western, Choice, Carlson and Wyndham.
Mr. Works is also a licensed attorney in both Nebraska and Wisconsin and has extensive legal experience in matters related to hotel real estate including contracts, financing, franchise issues, 1031 and other tax issues, and brokerage.
Mr. Works is also a licensed real estate broker and operates the Lincoln, Nebraska office of Leisure Real Estate Advisors (based in Kansas City, Missouri). Since joining Leisure in 2004, Mr. Works has been involved in over 60 hotel brokerage transactions. Mr. Works currently lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife, Kelly, and their four children Lauren, Conner, Duncan and Grady.

Gaurang Kalabhai, Owner & President
Mr. Kalabhai has nine years of experience and has been involved in all aspects of successfully operating and maintaining a hotel. Kalabhai grew up surrounded by a family of entrepreneurs and was constantly influenced by their hard working character. At the age of eighteen he was managing hotels and with a B.S in Finance from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Kalabhai purchased the Travelodge in Lincoln, NE in 2006. Mr. Kalabhai performed a detailed analysis on the profit making capability of the property and decided to invest in it. He renovated the hotel, set up several major accounts, invested in a franchise name and has turned the hotel into a successful business. Currently Mr. Kalabhai owns multiple hotels spread across Nebraska and Kansas. All of his hotels rank in the top 100 worldwide for their franchise. His experience, knowledge and passion of business are key to his success. The previous hotels that Mr. Kalabhai has owned, remodeled, refurbished, rebranded and then sold all netted a profit for Mr. Kalabhai and his business partners. Kalabhai was the President of the Lincoln Lodging Association in 2010 and is still friends with members of the Lincoln city council. He had many achievements during his term, the most notable of which was convincing the association to endorse the Pinnacle Bank Arena in the Haymarket district of Lincoln. Mr. Kalabhai currently holds an elected seat in the Merrick County Board of Economic Development. As a strong believer in customer service Mr. Kalabhai has gained the trust of clients, customers, employees and the communities in which he conducts business.

Steph Camerone, Executive Assistant
Steph Camerone received her Bachelors of Arts in English, History, and Communications from Manhattanville College in 2014. She moved to Lincoln after graduation to earn her Digital Humanities Certificate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After a short return home, working for a property leasing agency, Ms. Camerone moved back to Lincoln and is the newest addition to the Nightcap Management team. An avid outdoorist she enjoys taking her two german shorthaired pointer puppies camping and hiking across the Nebraska Prairie landscape and taking film photographs of the beauty encountered. When stuck inside you’ll find her inside the kitchen cooking recipes passed down from her Italian grandmothers, always making plenty extra to share with her co-workers.

Marsha Bauer, Director of Human Resources
Marsha Bauer's strong background in public relations, sales and hotel management bring a valuable dimension to Nightcap Hotel Management. Marsha spent years in the Sandhills of Nebraska as the Manager of the Sandhills Cattle Association and then transitioned into farm broadcasting on KRVN radio where she had her own radio program 'Good News in Agriculture'. Eventually Marsha, husband Ron and partners built the Holiday Inn Express in Valentine, NE. Marsha was the managing partner for 13 years. During this time Marsha and her staff won a Newcomer award, six Torchbearer Awards and three Quality Assurance Awards. Marsha continues to pursue interests in the hospitality industry and is content to have found a home and a place to grow with Nightcap Hotel Management.

Alajandra Lopez, Chief Financial Officer
Alejandra Lopez a native of Omaha, Nebraska has been working with Nightcap Management since its inception. Ms. Lopez graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Economics. Lopez started at an accounting firm specializing in the hospitality industry before joining this team as C.F.O. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her son Alex, practicing her violin, and listening to mariachi music. She also enjoys cooking traditional Mexican food from her homeland, Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico, and sharing it with the office at Wednesday meetings. She is currently pursuing her C.P.A to further her involvement in the accounting community.

Andrew Gurenko, Accounts Payable
Andrew is a native Ukrainian who has lived in the United States for six years and is proficient in three languages. In 2016 he graduated with a BS in Finance from San Diego State University. After his studying, he completed his internship with World Financial Group and decided to pursue a career in Hospitality. He was a General Manager at a hotel and shortly after attaining operational experience he transferred to Nightcap Management as an Accounts Payable Associate. Gurenko is furthering his education by pursuing his goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Outside of his studies he enjoys camping, fishing, and reading over a good cup of coffee. Gurenko enjoys coffee so much that he has compiled a list of all the coffee shops in Nebraska and plans to visit each one to test their brews.

Brenda Davis, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Associate
Brenda is from Hebron, Nebraska has twenty plus years of working in accounts payable at various companies. She was brought into Nightcap Management six months ago and has used her great experience to tighten accounts. For fun Ms. Davis enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time visiting with her large family filled with many great nephews and nieces. She spoils the office with her happy demeanor and consistently comes to work prepared and supportive of the team.

Julie Stephens-Watson, Revenue Manager
Julie Stephens-Watson is a native of Iowa receiving her Bachelors of Arts from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She has over 15 years of hospitality experience beginning as a banquet prep chef at the Marriott West Des Moines, Iowa. She continued her hospitality career as the human resource/accounts payable assistant and later was promoted to Accounting Manager at the Marriott. After moving to Omaha, Julie worked at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group (now Radisson Hotel Group) as a Revenue Optimization Specialist. She joined Nightcap Management in the fall of 2019 as their Revenue Manager. Besides getting exited about numbers, Julie is happily married and lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her husband.

Wendy Francis, VP of Sales and Marketing
Wendy Francis is the VP of Sales and Marketing for Nightcap Management. With over 20 years of sales and management experience, Wendy has a long distinguished career in sales, including senior sales leadership roles. Throughout the years, she has been promoted from a sales representative to territory representative, manager, regional manager, sales director and regional director. She has won multiple awards in sales achievements, excellence, million dollar clubs and outstanding performance. Prior to joining Nightcap Management, she was Regional Director of a large travel agency, managing over 80 sales representatives and 10 regional managers. Wendy re-architected the sales organization, resulting in the tripling of revenue in three years. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her daughter, friend, family, 2 German Shepherd puppies and traveling whenever possible. She volunteers much of her time at a local homeless shelter that is proudly owned by her family.
